Nov-02-2023
On Friday, BlizzCon presented attendees with three exciting additions to the World of Warcraft (WoW) universe. Alongside these, gamers also got confirmation that the acclaimed Cataclysm will debut in WoW Classic next year.
The Worldsoul Saga, a triad of expansions, promises to provide an extravagant narrative that both commemorates WoW's two-decade-long journey and constructs a thrilling foundation for the game's future. This saga commences with The War Within, tentatively set to roll out in 2024.
The subsequent installments of the Worldsoul Saga, 'Midnight', and 'The Last Titan' were also introduced. The brainchild of Blizzard veteran Chris Metzen, the narrative arc aims to chart the course for future developments in this immensely popular Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game.
The War Within is set amidst the subterranean kingdoms of Azeroth, unveiling new forces known as the Earthen to the players. This expansion offers a range of impressive in-game territories such as Khaz Algar - the Earthen's homeland, the Isle of Dorn - situated off Pandaria's western shores. The Ringing Deeps, the fluorescent Hallowfall, and Azj-Kahet - the grand capital of the Nerubian community.
In addition, The War Within introduces an all-new gaming component called Delves – compact, engaging world instances that players can either venture into solo or in groups of up to five, assisted by an NPC. There's more to look forward to with leveling up to 80 through Hero Talent trees, sharing progress with other characters via the Warbands system, and the chance to experience Dynamic Flying with numerous existing mounts.
The subsequent game, WoW: Midnight, draws players back to the Old World, where a void invasion seeks to eliminate the Sunwell's light. Lastly, WoW: The Last Titan, set in Northrend's wintry expanse in the Old World, brings forth the Titans' return to Azeroth and unearths a massive conspiracy.
